Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking an Assistant Site Manager for a traveling, field-based role. You will serve as the on-site lead during off-rotation periods and help develop scopes, schedules, and cost estimates across multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s degree or equivalent and 3+ years (or 5+ years with progression) in construction, with strong leadership and problem-solving skills and experience in industrial sectors such as food & beverage.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent; 3+ years construction experience, or 5+ years construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in light/heavy industrial sector, ideally within food & beverage markets.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural/engineering drawings, financial reports, and contracts.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the overall Site Manager during off rotation for the Site Manager.
  • Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval.
  • Assist in the development and management of project schedule; prepare estimates for self-performed work.
  • Coordinate on-site construction activities, manage resources, and ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Review drawings and coordinate with subcontractors to maintain current project documentation.
  • Manage procurement and subcontracts, and track progress and costs.
