Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to join our field team. This is a traveling, on-site role supporting multiple projects nationwide.

You will function as the overall Site Manager on off-rotation for the Site Manager, assist in developing scopes of work, manage project schedules, review drawings, coordinate with subcontractors, and uphold safety and quality standards across diverse industrial facilities in the United States.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent with 3+ years construction experience, or 5+ years with no degree.
• Experience in light/heavy industrial sector, especially food & beverage.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, financial reports, and contracts.
• People management experience and collaboration mindset.
• Proficiency with MS Project or similar scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Function as overall Site Manager during off rotation for the Site Manager.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval.
• Assist in developing and managing project schedules and estimates.
• May function as Site Manager for small projects (under 5 million).
• Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
• Procure tools and materials, negotiate with subcontractors, and draft subcontracts.
• Review drawings and coordinate with field teams to maintain current sets.
• Ensure safety and quality standards on site and enforce Gray's safety program.
• Travel to project sites nationwide; live anywhere in the USA with project travel.
• Meet with customers and coordinate changes with the SM and PM.
