Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Major Component Exchange/Repair Technician for 100% travel across the Northwest region. This remote, hourly role offers the chance to lead or support gearbox, generator, and retrofit work, with potential earnings over $100,000 including overtime and bonuses.

You’ll join a team focused on safety, training, and continuous learning, with GWO certifications encouraged and provided training opportunities. A HS diploma and valid license are required.

Qualifications

• Prioritize safety and follow established protocols at all sites.
• Wind turbine experience with hands-on MCE work preferred.
• 1+ year wind technician experience or 6 months with a Wind Technician certificate/education, or 2 years related mechanical/electrical experience.
• Ability to read and follow instructions in English; valid driver’s license; HS diploma.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety at all sites with risk assessment and protective measures.
• Perform major component exchanges (gearboxes, generators, etc.).
• Execute maintenance, repairs, and retrofits per established procedures.
• Travel extensively to support turbine operations across regions.
• Collaborate with teams for safe, efficient, high-quality work.
• Conduct safety inspections and maintain a secure working environment.
