American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with Level 1 or 2 trauma experience for a hospital OR position in a high-volume 25-room surgical department in Falls Church, VA.

The role requires BLS (AHA), a minimum of 2 years of experience, travel assignment history (not a first-timer), VA registration, and applicable licensing. Expect a busy schedule with night rotation, weekend shifts, and multi-service-line exposure.

Responsibilities

• Hospital surgical department with 25 OR rooms processing 45–60 cases per day.
• Care across orthopedics, general surgery, robotics, organ transplants, ENT, and pediatric cases.
• Treats both adult and pediatric patients and uses Epic EMR.
• D8D12 shift with night rotation and call requirements; weekends are common.
• Floating to other ORs as needed and scrubs provided.

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with Level 1 or 2 trauma experience for a hospital OR position in a high-volume 25-room surgical department.

Requirements

• Prior travel assignment experience required (cannot be first-time traveler)
• VA state registration required at submission
• License required if applicable
• Neonate, pediatric, and trauma experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Hospital surgical department with 25 OR rooms handling 45-60 cases per day
• Service lines include orthopedics (including total joints and OTT), general surgery, robotics, organ transplants (kidney), ENT, oral/maxillofacial, vascular/thoracic, urology, and pediatrics
• Treats both adult and pediatric patients
• Uses Epic EMR
• D8D12 shift schedule with night rotation and call requirements
• Weekend requirement of Saturday or Sunday, typically 2-3 shifts per 6-week schedule
• On weekends, facility runs 5-6 rooms with 4 rooms operating 24/7 and all urgent cases scheduled on Sunday
• Call requirements of 3-4 weekday and 3-4 weekend shifts (4 hours) per 6-week schedule
• Holiday and night rotation as needed by unit, with at least one holiday coverage required (one winter, one summer)
• Floating to other ORs required when urgent need arises
• Scrubs provided
• Accepts local candidates at a lower pay rate
• 50-mile radius rule applies for travel rate eligibility
• Former permanent employees may return 12 months after their last shift worked
• Not eligible for first-time travelers
