• BLS certification from AHA or ARC required
• Certification or certification eligibility preferred
• State license required if applicable

Responsibilities

• 13-week assignment in a critical access hospital surgical department
• Varied 12-hour day/evening shifts
• On-call required
• Create and maintain a sterile field, inspecting items for contamination before use
• Anticipate equipment and supply needs before procedures begin
• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and air-powered surgical equipment per manufacturer instructions
• Scrub for a variety of surgical procedures, adapting to individual surgeon preferences and techniques
• Capable of scrubbing specialty surgeries, including sports medicine and trauma cases, without a sales representative present
• Assist RN with operative charting and documentation of hardware used during procedures
• Collect and verify specimens and cultures with the surgeon
• Dorm-style housing may be available within walking distance of the hospital, depending on availability
