American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level II Trauma hospital operating room with 1+ year of experience in a high-volume, multi-specialty surgical setting.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist, more preferred
• BLS certification required
• CST certification preferred but not required
• License required if applicable
• Compact or Maine state license required
• Experience with listed case types across multiple specialties
• Comfortable wearing lead for procedures
• Davinci XI robotics experience preferred; proof of Intuitive Training modules required if robotically trained
• Must be comfortable working in a high-acuity trauma and teaching hospital environment

Responsibilities

• Level II Trauma hospital with 22 operating rooms averaging 60 cases per day
• Operating room caters to all ages from pediatrics to adults across 26 service lines including Neuro, Trauma/General, Vascular, Urology, ENT, GYN, Ortho, Robotics, Ophthalmology, Thoracic, and Max Facial/Dental
• Uses Cerner EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• 24/7 operating hours with 8h, 10h, or 12h shift options depending on requisition
• Night shift schedule (7P-7A) on a 4-week rotation cycle
• Weekend rotation of at least 1 weekend day per 4-week schedule, likely more than 1 for Surg Techs
• No floating required
• Call requirements apply, including C1 short call and overnight call shifts with a 30-minute response time
• No sleep room provided during call shifts
• Support a wide range of surgical procedures across 26 service lines in a high-volume OR averaging 60 cases per day
• Work alongside a full unit support team including Manager, Assistant Manager, Team Leads for each service line, CRNAs, Anesthesiologists, Anesthesia Techs, Orderlies, Equipment Reps, Charge RNs, and an OR Educator
• Respiratory Therapy support available 24/7
• 2-day orientation with a preceptor
• Surgical scrubs provided
• Free parking available
• Minimal holiday coverage expected, with only major holidays observed in this OR
• RTO requires manager approval
• First-time travelers may be considered with at least one prior travel assignment and manager approval
• Candidates must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity
• Permanent residence must be located 100+ miles South/SW of the facility to be eligible for consideration
