American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a CVOR Surgical Tech for a Level III Trauma Center with a strong cardiovascular surgical background and BLS certification.

The role requires 2+ years CVOR experience, graduation from an accredited surgical technology program, EPIC experience, and active license where applicable. The 8-bed CVOR unit handles ~10 cases daily, including CABG, TAVR, valve replacements, robotic thoracic surgeries, and heart transplants.

Qualifications

Responsabilités

• 8-bed CVOR unit within Level III Trauma Center.
• Averages 10 cases per day (CABG, TAVR, valve replacements, robotic thoracic, transplants).
• 1:1 patient ratio with 2 RNs per case; travelers circulate only.
• 5x8-hour day shifts, Mon-Fri, start times 0530–0630.
• No floating required; occasional assistance in Cath Lab or Main OR.
• Weekend coverage on-call approx. once per month.
• End-of-shift call up to once per week; 30-minute response.
• Uses EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis, and Davinci XI equipment.
• Support structure includes Supervisor, Manager, Team Lead, and 24/7 coverage.

American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Surgical Tech for a Level III Trauma Center requiring strong cardiovascular surgical experience and BLS certification.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required across all cardiovascular and thoracic specialties
• BLS certification required
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program required
• CST certification preferred
• Active license required if applicable
• EPIC experience required
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance in complex cardiovascular cases
• Strong background in fast-paced surgical environments
• Candidate's middle name/initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Responsibilities

• 8-bed CVOR unit within a Level III Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility
• Averages 10 cases per day including CABG, TAVR, valve replacements, robotic thoracic surgeries, generator exchanges, lead extractions, heart transplants, and fem-pop bypass
• 1:1 patient ratio with 2 RNs per case (Circulator and Med RN); travelers will circulate only
• 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, with flexible start times between 0530-0630
• No floating required, aside from occasional assistance with cardiac procedures in Cath Lab or Main OR
• Weekend coverage is on-call only, approximately once per month (Sat/Sun 0700-0700)
• End of shift call required up to once per week with a 30-minute response time
• Holiday coverage is on-call only, as needed
• Uses EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis, and Davinci XI equipment
• Support structure includes a Department Supervisor, Manager, Team Lead, Surgical Assistant Lead, and 24/7 House Supervisor and Anesthesia availability
• Weekend program includes shared supervision across Main OR and CVOR with limited staffing
• 2 weeks of orientation provided
• First-time travelers are not recommended for this position
• Up to 7 days of time off can be approved, with additional requests subject to approval
• Facility adheres to a fatigue policy limiting staff to 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
• Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
