American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist for a hospital operating room position in Connecticut, requiring strong cardiovascular surgery experience.

The role involves 5x8 or 4x10 day shifts, call coverage Monday–Friday evenings and weekends, and use of Accudose/Omnicell with Cerner charting. Travel experience is required. First-time travelers will not be considered, and local candidates may receive a lower bill rate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years CVOR surgical technologist experience required (2–3 years considered with strong credentials).
• Candidate must have prior travel experience.
• BLS certification is required.
• Cerner charting experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Hospital CVOR unit position.
• Day shifts: 5x8 (6:45a–3:15p) or 4x10 (6:45a–5:15p).
• Call coverage Monday–Friday 3:15p–7a and weekends 24 hours (Sat/Sun), shared between two techs.
• Every other weekend required.
• Uses Accudose and Omnicell medication systems; documents in Cerner; SBAR communication.
• Potential for general OR, hybrid OR, and first assist duties; trauma Level I/II experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred.

• Prior travel experience required
• BLS certification required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Experience in cardiovascular procedures such as CABG, mitral valve replacement, atrial septal defect repair, pericardial window, and EVAR/TAVR preferred
• Experience in vascular, general, orthopedic, and other surgical specialties preferred
• Charge experience preferred
• License required if applicable
