Job description

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with adult cardiac experience for a 12-hour day shift assignment at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of adult CVOR surgical technologist experience required
• Active license required if applicable
• BLS certification preferred but not required
• Experience with adult CVOR case types required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Responsibilities

• Operating Room department with 7 ORs dedicated to Adult and Peds Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular procedures
• Department also supports Cath Lab and EP Lab
• Patient population includes Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic surgery cases
• 12-hour day shift schedule, 0700-1900, 36 hours per week on a 6-week cycle
• On-call required 1 night per week and 2 weekends within a 6-week scheduling period, with a 1-hour call-back time and sleep room available
• May be required to cover nights or weekends if on call and an in-house team member calls out
• Possible floating to Pineville CVOR, though unlikely
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing system
• Facility is a 900+ bed Level 1 Trauma and Level 1 Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital with Magnet designation, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center accreditation
• Support provided by Clinical Supervisor, Charge RN, OR Assistants, Anesthesia/CRNA team, and experienced peers
• Orientation includes NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation, with length depending on experience level
• Holiday coverage may be required if holidays fall within the contract period
• RTO subject to manager approval
• Personal scrubs worn to and from the hospital, with hospital-issued scrubs required in the OR
• Free parking available on-site
• Positive unit culture reported
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Returning employees must have been separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position
