National certification preferred and licensure as applicable. The role includes a 13‑week contract in a 13‑OR hospital with a variety of cases, including CABG, TAVR, and vascular procedures.

• Call required with 3–4 weeknight calls and 1–2 weekend shifts per 6‑week schedule; 30‑min response time.

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a busy hospital operating room, requiring at least 2 years of specialty OR experience and strong CVOR skills.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of OR experience in specialty
• Minimum 12 months of core work experience in unit specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
• BLS certification required
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist education program required prior to start
• National certification preferred
• License required if applicable
• Strong and recent experience with CABG, TAVR, vascular, and thoracic cases for CVOR assignments
• Experience scrubbing in orthopedic, cardiothoracic, vascular, general, urology, robotic, GYN, colon, breast, spine, podiatry, and plastic surgery cases
• Epic EMR experience
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Responsibilities

• 13-week contract in a hospital Operating Room with 13 ORs plus 1 procedure/Cysto room
• Averages 45 cases per day across a wide range of surgical specialties including orthopedic, spine, general, breast, podiatry, urology, robotic, GYN, and plastics
• CVOR cases include CABG, TAVR, vascular, and thoracic procedures
• 10-hour night shift schedule, Monday through Thursday 7:00 PM-5:30 AM
• Weekend rotation typically limited to call coverage
• Call required with 3-4 weeknight calls and 1-2 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, 30-minute response time, sleep room available
• No floating required
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors
• Supported by OR assistants, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, and 24/7 anesthesia/CRNA coverage
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Facility has Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designations with no trauma designation and is not a teaching hospital
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
• Orientation is 1 week for Main OR and 2 weeks for CVOR, consisting of five 8-hour shifts
• Holiday expectations include working or being on call for approximately 75% of holidays on a rotating basis
• RTO requires manager approval
• Scrubs provided and free parking available
• Final clinical interview conducted by the hiring manager
