Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with heart and lung transplant and trauma experience for a hospital operating room assignment in Kentucky.

The role focuses on vascular, cardiovascular, general surgery and transplant cases in a teaching hospital setting. You will work day shifts, three 12-hour shifts weekly (6:30 AM–6:30 PM), float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate, support CABG, valve repairs, VAD, and aneurysm repairs, while maintaining sterile technique

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required.
• Experience with heart and lung transplant cases required.
• Trauma experience required.
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Compact or KY State license required, if applicable.
• Skills checklist required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• CVOR unit within a teaching hospital setting.
• Day shift, three 12-hour shifts weekly from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
• Candidates will float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital.
• Case types include vascular, cardiovascular, general surgery, orthopedic, urology, thoracic, ENT, and heart/lung transplant procedures.
• Support cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures including CABG, valve repairs/replacements, VAD, and aortic aneurysm repairs.
• Assist with a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecologic, orthopedic, urologic, and general surgery cases.
• Maintain aseptic technique, sterilization/disinfection standards, and proper instrument processing.
• Participate in Universal Protocol time-out procedures and specimen handling.
• Utilize skills with endoscopic and robotic-assisted surgical equipment as needed.
• Complete billable orientation and annual modules specific to specialty.
• Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted.
• Returning permanent staff must be separated from all affiliated facilities for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler.
• Time off requests must be disclosed at time of consideration; requests submitted afterward will not be approved.
