Job summary

Newsandtribune is seeking a Surgical Technologist for CVOR in a Level 2 trauma center. Requires 2+ years of cardiac and vascular surgical tech experience and trauma patient experience.

BLS, NBSTSA/NCCT/CST certifications, and a state license if applicable are required. The role includes day shifts (4x10 hours) with rotation, weekend/on-call duties, potential to float between two campuses about 12 miles apart, and scrubs provided by the hospital.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of cardiac and vascular surgical technology experience.
• Trauma patient experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• NBSTSA, NCCT and CST certifications required.
• Valid state license required if applicable.
• Experience with cardiac procedures including ASD repair, cardiomyoplasty, CABG, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window, TAVR, and VAD.
• Experience with vascular procedures including AAA repair, aortocaval and aortoenteric fistula repair, AV fistula repair, atherectomy, carotid angioplasty/stenting/endarterectomy, EVAR, femoral popliteal bypass, renal artery bypass, and TEVAR.
• Copies of certifications required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital CVOR unit within a Level 2 trauma center
• Facility features cardiothoracic surgery, structural heart, and advanced heart failure programs
• Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours, alternating between 6:30a-5:00p and 9:00a-8:00p
• Weekend call required along with nights on-call (weekday call is 12 hours; weekend call is 24-48 hours)
• May be required to float between two campuses located approximately 12 miles apart
• Hospital-provided scrubs
• Scrub experience in General, Urology, and Ortho surgery highly preferred
• 2-day orientation required for surgical technologists
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted within 50 miles of the facility, with a rate differential applying
• RTO, block, and special scheduling requests must be submitted upfront, as late requests are unlikely to be approved
• Facility may require travelers to make up missed shifts during the same week or at the end of the assignment
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
