Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Surgical Technologist for a 13-week teaching hospital assignment in Minnesota. Requires at least 2 years in a surgical technology role, BLS and NBSTSA certification, and prior travel experience.

The role covers CVOR, general OR, and hybrid OR settings with complex cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic cases. RTO limits apply; housing allowances and travel reimbursements are provided as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical technology role.
• CVOR, General OR, and Hybrid OR experience preferred.
• Cardiovascular case experience including CABG, TAVR, VAD, valve repairs.

Responsibilities

• Rotates through CVOR, spine, orthopedics, vascular, general surgery, and robotics cases.
• 20 operating rooms performing 40-50 cases per day
• 5x8-hour day and evening shifts with multiple start times
• Weekend and on-call coverage as needed
• Floating to affiliate facilities as required
• Uses Epic EMR system

Job description

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of specialty experience for a 13-week teaching hospital assignment.

Requirements

• >=
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical technology role
• BLS and NBSTSA certification required
• Prior travel experience required
• Experience in CVOR, General OR, and Hybrid OR settings required
• Cardiovascular case experience required, including CABG, TAVR, VAD, mitral valve replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, atrial septal defect repair, cardiomyoplasty, EVAR, and pericardial window
• Vascular case experience required, including AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, carotid angioplasty, carotid artery stenting, EVAR, femoral popliteal bypass graft, TEVAR, vein stripping, and laparoscopic assisted cases
• Thoracic case experience required, including lung resection via thoracotomy, VATS, and laparoscopic assisted cases
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, isolation precautions, laser safety, radiation safety, sharps safety, specimen handling/labeling, sterilization/disinfection, and universal protocol time-out procedures
• License required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Rotates through CVOR, spine, orthopedics, vascular, general surgery, and robotics cases
• 20 operating rooms performing 40-50 cases per day
• 5x8-hour day and evening shifts with start times of 0630, 0900, 1100, and 1445
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• On-call requirements as needed
• Floating required as needed within the hospital or to an affiliate facility
• Uses Epic (Excellian) EMR system

• Acute care teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation
• 317 staffed beds
• Scrubs provided
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Returning staff must have been gone at least 3 months from their last shift worked as perm staff or per diem
• RTO requests ideally limited to no more than 5 days
