Job summary

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Tech with at least 2 years of cardiac experience for an acute care hospital assignment.

Responsibilities include support on a CVOR unit with two suites, CABG/TAVR and valve replacements, 4x10-hour days, on-call shifts with a 30-minute response time, and weekend/holiday coverage. Epic EMR is used and facility provides scrubs.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of cardiac surgical tech experience.
• BLS certification is required.
• Crisis Protocol Approved certification is required.
• License is required if applicable.
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration.
• Two professional references required: one supervisor within last 12 months and one peer or supervisor within last 3 years, with dates of employment and eligibility for rehire.

Responsibilities

• Acute care CVOR unit with 2 surgical suites averaging 4 cases per day.
• Procedures include CABG, TAVR, and valve replacements (minimally invasive and open approaches).
• Work 4x10-hour day shifts (6:30a-5p).
• On-call: 10 shifts per 6-week cycle, 30-minute response time.
• Weekend and holiday coverage required.
• May float to the Main OR; uses Epic EMR.

• Work alongside CVOR RNs and OR techs under charge nurse/house supervisor oversight
• Facility provides scrubs
• Unit-specific orientation provided
• Mandatory call/standby participation required for all staff
• Some states require candidates to reside a minimum distance from the facility to be eligible for this position
