American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with 2+ years of surgical tech experience for a cardiovascular, thoracic, transplant and robotics-focused hospital position. The role is primarily day shifts with 3x12 hour blocks and potential call requirements.

• Floating within facility and to Main OR as needed
• Perform technologist duties across cardiovascular, thoracic and transplant surgeries
• Assist with hybrid OR, general OR and trauma settings and endoscope reprocessing

Job description

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a cardiovascular, thoracic, transplant and robotics-focused hospital position.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technology experience required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• License required if applicable
• Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II settings preferred
• Skilled in vascular procedures including AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, endovascular aneurysm repair, femoral popliteal bypass graft, and TEVAR
• Skilled in cardiovascular procedures including CABG, EVAR, mitral valve replacement, TAVR, and VAD, with atrial septal defect repair and cardiomyoplasty preferred
• Proficient in aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization/disinfection
• Experience with endoscopic procedures and laparoscopic-assisted cases preferred
• Cardiothoracic robotic surgery experience preferred
• Experience with scope care, case carts, crash carts, and fiber optic equipment
• Airway management skills required

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based CVOR unit specializing in cardiovascular, thoracic, transplant, and robotics (thoracic preferred) surgeries
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Call requirements subject to change based on departmental needs
• Floating required within facility/scope of practice and to Main OR as needed
• 1:1 patient ratio experience
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Locals accepted at the same bill rate
• Perform surgical technologist duties across cardiovascular, thoracic, and transplant surgeries including heart and lung procedures such as thoracotomy and VATS
• Support hybrid OR, general OR, and trauma settings alongside sterile processing responsibilities
• Support flexible endoscope reprocessing and care of endoscopic equipment
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period, with limited or no holiday RTO available depending on the number of holidays
• Full compliance required prior to start date to avoid a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
• Employees who previously worked directly for the facility must be away for one full year before returning as a traveler
