Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN for a contract position in North Carolina. The role requires a valid NC or Compact RN license and BLS, with 2+ years of CVOR experience.

You will work 12-hour day shifts (0700–1900), totaling 36 hours per week, in a Magnet-designated Level I Trauma teaching hospital with dedicated ORs for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic cases. Experience with Epic EMR is preferred, along with hybrid OR exposure.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for Adult and Pediatric Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic procedures.
• Staff 7 ORs dedicated to Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular surgery.
• Support Cath Lab and EP Lab activities.
• Collaborate with Clinical Supervisor, Charge RN, and OR team.
• Work 12-hour day shifts on a 0700-1900 schedule (36 hours/week).
• Rotation-based schedule with on-call and weekend requirements.
• Possible float to Pineville CVOR if needed.
• EMR used is Epic; IV Pumps Alaris; Omnicell for meds.

• Patient population includes Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic surgical cases
• 12-hour day shift schedule from 0700-1900, 36 hours per week
• Schedule cycle runs on a 6-week rotation
• Weekend work only required if on-call and the scheduled person calls out
• On-call required approximately once per week and 2 weekends within the 6-week schedule, with 1-hour call back time and a sleep room available
• Possible floating to Pineville CVOR, though unlikely
• EMR used is Epic
• IV Pump: Alaris; Medication dispensing: Omnicell
• Provide perioperative nursing care for Adult and Pediatric Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic surgical procedures
• Work alongside a Clinical Supervisor, Charge RN, OR Assistants, Anesthesia/CRNA team, and experienced peer support
• Facility-specific orientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental orientation, with length depending on experience level
• Holiday coverage may be required if holidays fall within the contract period
• RTO requests subject to manager approval
• Personal scrubs worn to and from the hospital; hospital-issued scrubs worn in the OR

• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position
