Expect 4x10 day shifts, 2x12s, or 2x8s, with on-call duties and no guaranteed weekends. Cerner experience; scrubs provided. Local travel not required for this assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in Level I trauma OR with about 14 rooms in a busy health system
• Care for adult and geriatric patients in the OR
• Shift options: 4x10 Day shifts, 2x12s or 2x8s
• On-call: approx 6 weekday calls and 2 weekend rotations
• Operate within Cerner charting system; scrubs provided
• Assist in wide range of procedures across general, neuro, transplant, vascular, and ortho

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with Level I trauma experience and broad general OR expertise for a Day shift role in a busy 14-room operating room.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room Surgical Technologist experience required
• Level I trauma OR experience required
• Strong General OR experience required
• Experience scrubbing total joint, neuro, transplant, vascular, and general surgery procedures required
• NBSTSA certification required; NCCT also accepted
• License required if applicable
• Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Level I trauma hospital operating room with approximately 14 rooms, part of a larger health system
• Serves adult and geriatric patient populations
• Shift options include 4x10 Day shifts (6:45a-7:15p), 2x12s (6:45a-7:15p) or 2x8s (10:45a-7:15p)
• No regular weekend shift requirement, but weekend call is required
• Floating within scope required based on facility needs
• On-call responsibilities include approximately 6 weekday call shifts and 2 weekend call rotations per schedule
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• General surgery procedures include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic cases, thyroidectomy, and Whipple procedures
• Neurosurgery procedures include ALIF, cervical fusion, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, and lumbar fusion
• Orthopedic procedures include total hip and knee replacements, fracture repair, arthroscopy, and spinal fusion
• Vascular procedures include carotid angioplasty/stenting, carotid endarterectomy, AV fistula repair, femoral-popliteal bypass, and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
• Transplant experience includes heart, kidney, liver, lung, and organ-donation procedures
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a local rate differential
• RTO must be submitted prior to consideration and cannot be accommodated afterward
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
