American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with general, ortho, total joints, and neuro proficiency for a hospital operating room position offering day shifts.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of current CST experience required
• NBSTSA certification required
• High proficiency in ortho, total joints, and neuro procedures required
• Scrubbing experience required across general, ortho, neuro, and endo cases
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• License required if applicable
• Must have reliable personal vehicle for the assignment

Responsibilities

• Operating Room setting within a general surgery department
• Supports a broad surgical caseload including endocrine, breast, oncologic, gastrointestinal, colorectal (open and laparoscopic), and hepatobiliary procedures
• Monday through Friday day shift schedule with 10-hour shifts
• On-call requirements apply, and candidates must be willing to take call
• Weekend coverage may be required, including holiday coverage if needed
• Function primarily in a scrubbing capacity as part of the surgical team, with occasional circulating duties
• Maintain aseptic technique and a calm environment within the OR suite
• Prepare the OR suite and use/maintain specialized equipment and supplies for specific procedures
• Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to stressful situations
• Any requested time off must be submitted prior to consideration, with a maximum of 5 days accepted
• Must be available to work two major holiday blocks if scheduled, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year periods and surrounding weekends
• Does not accept local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
• Candidates seeking schedule accommodations, such as block scheduling, will not be considered
• Candidates planning to work this assignment in conjunction with another placement will not be considered
