Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Main OR position in Indiana. Requires BLS and CST or TS-C certification. 1 year scrub tech experience and accredited program completion are required.

Role covers 24/7 inpatient/outpatient surgeries, including robotic da Vinci procedures, with a 4x10s second shift (Mon/Wed/Thu/Fri 11a-8:30p) and on-call rotation under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Scrub Tech or equivalent training.
• Completion of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Surgical Technologist Program or a Surgical Technologist Program in the US Armed Forces.
• BLS certification required.
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) required.
• License required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Main OR setting providing 24/7 inpatient and outpatient surgical services with private pre/post-op rooms.
• Procedures include bariatric, neuro spine, ortho, vascular, plastics, and more, with da Vinci robotic surgery for minimally invasive procedures.
• Second shift schedule, 4x10s Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday 11a-8:30p.
• Overnight call and weekend call rotation required.
• Works under the direct supervision of an RN in the operating room environment.
• Participates in time-out procedures, specimen handling, and sterile field maintenance.
• Responsible for room setup, turnover, and maintaining a ready state between cases.
• Assists with cleaning, stocking rooms, and supporting central sterile area tasks as needed.
• Collaborates closely with the OR team, precepts peers and students as needed, and follows chain of command.
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility may be considered local and eligible at a lower rate.
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of date of birth required for consideration
