American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level I trauma center’s Main Operating Room in Charleston, SC. NBSTSA certification and 2 years of OR experience are required. The role features 3x12-hour day shifts, no on-call requirements, and a Magnet-designated, nurse-driven department.

Experience in neuro/spine, ENT, robotics (Da Vinci Xi), and trauma/burns/orthopedics is highly preferred. Local candidates are favored; travel and licensure support available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist required.
• NBSTSA certification required; NCCT not accepted.
• BLS certification required; licensure if applicable.
• Experience in neuro, ENT and robotics cases highly preferred.
• Experience with trauma, burns and ortho procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 21-suite Main Operating Room across Trauma, Transplant, Ortho and Neuro.
• Scrub and circulate on cases including spine, craniotomy, flaps, robotics and transplants.
• 3x12-hour day shifts 6:30am–7:00pm; includes weekends; no call.
• Float within scope between units or sister facilities as needed.
• Utilize EPIC for charting; wear radiation badge; Magnet-designated department.

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level I trauma center's Main Operating Room, requiring NBSTSA certification and 2 years of OR experience.

Requirements

• NBSTSA certification required (NCCT not accepted)
• BLS certification required
• License required if applicable
• Experience in Neuro (spine/crani), ENT (flaps), and Robotics (Da Vinci Xi) cases highly preferred
• Experience with trauma, burns, orthopedic procedures (spinal fusion, total hip/knee replacement) preferred
• Full SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in a 21-suite Main Operating Room covering all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics
• Common cases include total joints, spine, trauma, craniotomy, flaps, robotics, transplants/procurements, trauma/burns, and GU/GYN
• 3x12-hour day shifts from 6:30am-7:00pm, including Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday
• No call requirements
• Float within scope to meet facility needs between like units or sister facilities as needed
• EPIC charting system used
• Radiation badge required for the role
• Join a Magnet-designated, nurse-driven department within a Level I academic trauma center
• Nursing team composition is 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists, with RNs trained in both scrubbing and circulating
• Scrubs provided by facility
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Previous MUSC employees (including PRN staff) must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration and is subject to facility approval
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
• 60-mile radius rule applies, with non-local candidates prioritized
• During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks, with hours able to be redistributed
