Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with a strong orthopedic background and Level 1 Trauma experience for a hospital General OR position. The role requires NBSTSA certification, Level 1 Trauma experience, and a strong ortho skill set including ACL reconstructions and total joint replacements.

Candidate experience under two years will be considered; an active license is required if applicable. Travel-ready travelers welcome; housing and reimbursements provided.

Qualifications

• NBSTSA certification is required.
• Level 1 Trauma experience is required.
• Strong orthopedic background with ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, arthrotomy, carpal tunnel release, fracture reductions, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, and total joint replacements.

Responsibilities

• General OR duties at a Level 1 Trauma facility.
• Day shift 3x12 hours, Mon-Wed, 6:45am–7:15pm.
• Epic charting system experience preferred.
• Perform surgical technologist duties for orthopedic procedures.
• First-time travelers will be considered.
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate.
• Former UChicago Medicine or Ingalls staff must have been separated for at least 7 months before returning as a traveler.
• Time-off limited to 3 days, no RTO during first/last week of contract.
• Non-billable orientation modules (2-3 hours) required.

• Candidates with less than 2 years of experience will be considered
• License required if applicable

Responsibilities

• General OR work setting at a Level 1 Trauma facility
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, Monday through Wednesday, 6:45am to 7:15pm
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Perform surgical technologist duties supporting a range of orthopedic procedures
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Former UChicago Medicine or Ingalls staff must have separated from employment for at least 7 months before returning as a traveler
• Requested time off limited to no more than 3 days, with no RTO during the first or last week of the contract
• Non-billable orientation modules (2-3 hours) are required and vary by profession
