Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with 3+ years of experience in Ortho, Neuro, and General surgery for a hospital operating room position.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterile field, passing instruments, and assisting surgical teams in acute care procedures. The role features an evening shift (5x8, 1400-2230) with no on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of surgical technologist experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty required, with 3 years preferred for OR.
• Recent experience within the last 3 months in the submitted specialty required.
• High School Education/GED or equivalent preferred.
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• 6 months of OR experience or completed Scrub Tech course required.
• Surgical Technician certification preferred.
• BLS certification from an approved vendor required.
• Surgery Technician license required if applicable.
• Active, unrestricted license in the state of submission required if applicable.
• Cerner and Epic experience must be documented if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Surgery unit position in an acute care hospital with a county designated trauma center.
• Evening rotating shift, 5x8s, Monday through Friday, 1400-2230.
• No call requirements.
• Experience required in Ortho, Neuro, and General surgery cases.
• Assist the surgical team in preparing and conducting surgical procedures.
• Create and maintain a sterile field, retract and pass instruments, supplies, and medications during cases.
• Check and assemble required supplies and equipment prior to each case.
• Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the RN according to established standards.
• Clean equipment and facilities and perform housekeeping duties as requested.
• Transport patients according to unit schedules and priorities.
• Perform clerical duties and label solutions per established standards.
• Required vaccinations are a condition of employment, with medical and religious exemptions considered.
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested RTO will be automatically declined.
• Candidates with a prior adverse licensure action will not be considered.
• Local candidates accepted with no radius rule, local rates same as travel rates.
• First-time travelers may be considered.
