Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Surgical Technologist for a travel assignment in an Orthopaedic Institute setting with teaching hospital exposure. The role requires BLS and NBSTSA credentials, and allows travel between shifts across a 24/7 facility.

The position features four 10-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with no on-call, weekends, or holidays. Cerner charting is preferred but not required, and housing allowances plus licensure reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required, with prior travel experience.
• BLS certification required.
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required.
• IAHCSMM certification preferred.
• License required if applicable.
• Ability to ambulate and lift up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Support surgical procedures across vascular, orthopedic, general, and endoscopic cases.
• Maintain instrument processing, sterilization and disinfection standards.
• Prepare and manage case carts, equipment and supply assembly.
• Cerner charting preferred but not required.
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet experience requirements.
• Travelers may work up to three consecutive 13-week contracts with a mandatory 6-month break.

Requirements

• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
• Comfortable working in a healthcare facility operating 24/7/365 with potential exposure to contagious illnesses

Responsibilities

• Orthopaedic Institute general OR setting with teaching hospital and Trauma Level I preferred exposure
• Day shift schedule of four 10-hour shifts, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with no call, weekends, or holidays
• Some shifts may end early or late due to end-of-day peel scheduling
• Cerner charting preferred but not required
• Support surgical procedures across a broad range of specialties including vascular, orthopedic, general, and endoscopic cases
• Maintain instrument processing, sterilization, and disinfection standards
• Prepare and manage case carts, equipment, and supply assembly
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet experience requirements
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for submission
• Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered at a local rate
• Maximum of 10 days RTO allowed, with none permitted during the first week due to orientation
• Returning travelers do not require re-orientation if returning within 18 months
• Travelers may work up to three consecutive 13-week contracts (up to 9 months) before a mandatory 6-month break is required before returning in an agency capacity
