Responsibilities include scrub, circulate, and equipment documentation across CVOR and general surgery cases. Expect 3x12 day shifts (6:45a–7:15p), on-call obligations, and travel housing allowances in a major teaching hospital setup.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as Surgical Technologist.
• CVOR experience required; no exceptions.
• NBSTSA certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• WV or Compact OR Tech license required to start; pending license accepted.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 14-room surgical services unit with an average daily census of 25.
• Scrub, circulate, and document equipment usage during cases.
• CVOR cases required: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Carotid Endarterectomy, CABG, MVR, Pericardial Window.
• General surgery cases: General, Endo/Laparoscopic, Thoracic; some vascular/urology/ ortho may be involved.
• 3x12 day shifts, 6:45a-7:15p; on-call 7p-7a and one weekend per month.
• First-time travelers accepted if CVOR and general surgery experience as scrubbing team.
• Uses Cerner and Accudose for charting; orientation every other Monday.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• CVOR experience required - no exceptions
• NBSTSA certification required
• BLS certification required
• WV or Compact OR Tech license required to start; pending license accepted for consideration
• License required if applicable
• Minimum of 2 manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-99 miles may be considered case-by-case
• Flu vaccination required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption is documented

Responsibilities

• Work in a 14-room surgical services unit with an average daily census of 25
• Scrub, circulate, and perform equipment documentation duties
• CVOR cases required: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Carotid Endarterectomy, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Mitral Valve Replacement, and Pericardial Window
• CVOR cases preferred: Atherectomy, Atrial Septal Defect Repair, Cardiomyoplasty, Femoral Popliteal Bypass Graft, Robotic Assisted Cardiac Surgery, TAVR, and VAD
• General surgery cases required: General, Endo/Laparoscopic, and Thoracic
• General surgery cases preferred: Vascular, Urology, and Ortho/Total Joints
• 3x12 day shifts, 6:45a-7:15p, weekdays
• On-call coverage required for occasional weeknight shifts (7p-7a) and one weekend per month (Saturday through Sunday 11pm)
• No floating required
• Uses Cerner and Accudose for charting
• Special equipment includes OR tables, yellow fin stirrups, battery-operated equipment, and positioning aids
• Scrub, circulate, and document equipment usage during surgical cases
• First-time travelers accepted if they have required CVOR and general surgery experience as scrubbing team members
• Facility is a Short-Term Acute Care, Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
• Orientation held every other Monday
• Free parking provided for travelers
• Former CAMC permanent employees must wait 2 years from last day worked before returning as a travel contractor
• Current Vandalia Health System employees (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, and affiliated hospitals) are not eligible for travel contracts within the system
• No RTO restrictions
