American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown unit in Kentucky, requiring 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience and KY or compact licensure. The role offers travel assignments with housing and licensure reimbursements and diverse patient care on a teaching and community hospital setting.

Active KY or compact RN license, current BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, and a valid driver's license are required, with flexible scheduling and potential RTO options. Compensation is competitive for travel nursing in Kentucky.

Qualifications

• Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 3 South Stepdown unit with 1:4-5 patient ratios.
• Day shift schedule alternating between 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (7:00-19:30).
• Rotating 36/48 schedule totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period.
• Every other weekend required.
• Float required within scope of practice.
• Cares for patients requiring cardiac telemetry, neuro stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC-level monitoring.
• Provide stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams.
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, intracranial bleeds, and post-TPA care is valuable.
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated.
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted.
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered if presented upfront with no changes accepted afterward.
• Required to work either a major or minor holiday for every holiday period.
• Travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after completing one year before returning to the system.
• Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit.

• Flu vaccine required, with medical and religious exemptions considered case by case
• Valid driver's license required, with address matching permanent address
• 2 professional references required: one Charge or higher and one supervisor, both completed within the last year
