Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Stepdown/Telemetry RN for night shifts in Wisconsin. Requires 2+ years in med/surg/PCU, WI or Compact RN license, and BLS/ACLS certified. Telemetry exam with strict passing criteria is required prior to assignment.

Responsibilities include caring for a mixed acuity patient population on a step-down unit, 4x12-hour nights, and rotating weekends with some holidays. Travel position includes housing and licensure support.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Wisconsin or a compact state.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA.
• Minimum 2 years RN med/surg and PCU experience within the last 3 years.
• First-time travelers must have at least 3 years of experience in a hybrid unit.

Responsibilities

• Step-down unit care for mixed acuity patients (PCU/telemetry/ICU as needed).
• Patient ratios 1:3-6.
• Uses Cerner charting system.
• Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts from 1830-0700.
• Weekend rotation with every other holiday; standby call as needed.
• Floating as required; potential 4x12s if more weekends.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of med/surg and PCU experience for a night shift position requiring a WI or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license (WI State or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in med/surg and PCU required within the last 3 years
• First-time travelers must have at least 3 years of experience in a hybrid unit
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to assignment start
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams required
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management (no titration) required
• Wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and feeding tube management experience required

Responsibilities

• Step-down unit caring for a mixed acuity patient population including PCU, telemetry, and occasional ICU patients
• Patient ratios of 1:3-6
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 1830-0700
• Weekend rotation required, with every other holiday worked
• Standby call required as needed
• Floating required as needed
• Schedule may be adjusted to 4x12s if working more weekends
• Provide nursing care to a mixed acuity population including PCU, telemetry, and occasional ICU patients
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel position
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms and a passing score of 80% or higher, with up to three attempts allowed
• Free onsite parking available
• First-time travelers may be considered with sufficient hybrid unit experience
