American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown unit in Hazard, KY. Requires 2+ years PCU/Stepdown or telemetry and KY or compact RN licensure.

The role features a day shift schedule (3x12 / 4x12, 7:00-19:30) with rotating 36/48 biweekly, potential for travel perks, and comprehensive benefits. Candidates must live 75 miles away; local applicants are ineligible.

Qualifications

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the 3 South Stepdown unit with 1:4-5 patient ratios.
• Day shift 3x12 and 4x12 hours (7:00-19:30) on rotating 36/48 biweekly.
• Float within scope of practice.
• Every other weekend required.
• Provide direct care to stepdown/telemetry patients, incl. cardiac monitoring.
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from facility; local candidates not eligible.
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered if upfront with no changes afterward.
• Must work major or minor shift on every holiday.
• Travelers with 1-year system experience may need 6-month break.

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown unit position requiring 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience and KY or compact licensure.

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Stepdown or telemetry experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Preferred experience in teaching and community hospital settings
• Must present a valid driver's license matching permanent address
• Two professional references required, including one charge or higher and one supervisor reference, both completed within the last year
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; medical and religious exemptions considered case by case

Responsibilities

• Work in the 3 South Stepdown unit with 1:4-5 patient ratios
• Day shift schedule of 3x12 and 4x12 hours (7:00-19:30) on a rotating 36/48 biweekly basis
• Float required within scope of practice
• Every other weekend required
• Preferred Meditech charting experience
• Provide direct patient care to stepdown/telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response teams
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not eligible
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered if presented upfront with no changes accepted afterward
• Must work either a major or minor shift on every holiday
• Travelers who have completed a one-year assignment within the system must take a minimum 6-month break before returningBlocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• First-time travelers may be considered
