Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Night Shift RN for a mixed PCU/Med Surg Telemetry unit in Toledo, OH. Requires OH or compact RN licensure, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS and at least 1 year acute care experience on EPIC charting with telemetry skills.

The role features a 4x12 night schedule (18:45-07:15), every-other-weekend shifts, and floating within Toledo facilities with a generous housing allowance and travel/licensure reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active OH RN license or compact license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience required
• IV therapy including central, peripheral, and PICC line care/management required
• Blood product administration and starting IVs required
• Insulin drip titration and TPN titration experience
• Feeding tube care/management experience
• Wound care and wound vac experience
• Surgical drain management experience
• Nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management experience
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required
• Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained

Responsibilities

• Mixed unit of PCU, Med Surg Telemetry, and Med Surg
• Adult patient population including CHF, COPD, GI conditions, COVID, pneumonia, CF
• Patient ratio 1:4 on all shifts
• Night shift 4x12s, 18:45-07:15
• Work every other weekend; evenings on Fri/Sat nights
• Float within Toledo facilities and across Flower, Bay Park, Wildwood
• Float to Neuro/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Trauma, Oncology, General Surgery, Uro/Vascular, Observation
• No on-call requirements
• Uses EPIC charting
• Work in Level I trauma center
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac emergency response for adult med surg/PCU
• Care for bariatric, hepatobiliary, and colorectal surgeries
• First-time travelers accepted; preference for Level 1/2 trauma experience
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
• Live >50 miles from facility to be traveler eligible
• Time-off requests >7 days require approval
• Returning staff gap >=1 year since last permanent employment
• Block scheduling not available
• Schedules may change with two weeks notice

Responsibilities

• Adult patient population with diagnoses including CHF, COPD, colorectal conditions, GI bleeds/SBO, COVID, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on all shifts
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 18:45-07:15
• Required to work every other weekend, with Friday and Saturday evenings on nights
• Floating required within service line and across Toledo, Flower, Bay Park, and Wildwood facilities
• May float to Neuro/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Trauma, Oncology, General Surg, Uro/Vascular, and Observation units
• No on-call requirements
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Works in a Level I trauma center, the largest acute care hospital in the Toledo metropolitan area
• Provide telemetry monitoring and cardiac emergency response for adult med surg and PCU patients
• Care for patients undergoing bariatric, hepatobiliary, and colorectal surgeries
• First-time travelers are accepted, with preference given to those having prior Level 1 or 2 trauma experience
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler
• Requests for time off greater than 7 days require management approval
• Returning staff must have a gap of at least 1 year since last employment as permanent staff
• Block scheduling is not available for this unit
• Schedules may be changed with two-weeks notice to balance staffing needs
• Free parking is provided
