Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Night Shift RN for an Intermediate Care/Step-Down unit with Level II Trauma experience and a TX or compact RN license.

The role features night hours (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), a 1:4 patient ratio, and a travel-friendly environment. Responsibilities include cardiac/drips care, post-cath lab, trach/vent management, and telemetry; expect floating between units and six weekend shifts per schedule.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS required; CPI preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience; 2+ years in Progressive Care or Step-Down preferred.
• Level II Trauma experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Experience with cardiac drip titration, post cath lab care, and trach/vent management required.

Responsibilities

• IMC/Step-Down setting within a Level II Trauma Center.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM).
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Special care areas include cardiac drips, post cath lab care, and trach/vent patients.
• Weekend commitment of 6 shifts per schedule period.
• Floating between units.
• No on-call requirements.
• 48-hour work weeks approved.
• Provide care for cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and renal patient populations with telemetry monitoring.
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed.
• Manage vasoactive and cardiac drips, including titration.

• Dress code requires solid navy blue scrub attire for licensed nursing staff


• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)


• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated


• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location


• First-time travelers are welcome to apply with required experience


• Former employees may return after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility


• Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius


• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
