Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) unit with telemetry experience and a compact or VA RN license. The role focuses on cardiac telemetry and neuro, renal, and respiratory care in a 1:4 patient setting.

Shift options include 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00–07:00). Travelers float first as needed; Cerner/Oracle Health charting is a plus but not required. Open to first-time travelers, with housing and travel reimbursements available.

Qualifications

• Active compact or VA RN license required in hand.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in unit specialty, 2-3 years overall experience preferred.
• Candidates with pending certifications will be considered.
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit providing cardiac telemetry and intermediate care.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:00.
• Floats to Intermediate Care and MedSurg units, with travelers floating first as needed.
• Care for patients with cardiac, neurological, renal, and respiratory conditions including CVA, seizure disorders, renal failure, and substance withdrawal.
• Participate in biweekly Monday orientation.
• Complete 8-10 hours of required training modules during orientation and annually.
• Nicotine-free campus.
• Must work some holidays in rotation with staff.
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with preference for no RTO in the first few weeks.
• Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates not accepted.
• Former Centra employees must be separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler.
• First-time travelers welcome to apply.

Requirements

• Active compact or VA RN license required in hand
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year experience in unit specialty, 2-3 years overall experience preferred
• Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, central and peripheral line care, and respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy) preferred
• Experience with wound care, IV insulin protocols, and pacemaker management preferred
