Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in California. Active CA RN license (compact accepted) and Epic EMR experience are required, with PCU/stepdown or ICU background preferred.

Responsibilities include bedside care for cardiac telemetry patients, continuous monitoring, and responding to dysrhythmias. Night shifts are 3x12 hours, with travel between sister facilities within the state. 13-week contract and holiday coverage are expected.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license (Compact license accepted) in hand at time of consideration.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience with PCU/stepdown or ICU experience.
• Epic EMR experience required (hard requirement).
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care to cardiac telemetry and PCU patients, including monitoring and medication administration.
• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) of a hospital setting.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:00-06:30).
• Floating between sister facilities within the state as needed.
• 13-week assignment length and holidays coverage (3 out of 5 major holidays).
• Reside within or be willing to accept a 50-mile local radius; local candidates may be offered a lower bill rate.

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring active CA RN license, Epic experience, and PCU/stepdown or ICU experience.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license accepted) required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• PCU/stepdown or ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required (hard requirement)
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience managing cardiac drips without titration
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Must provide response regarding any prior employment history with a Providence facility

Responsibilities

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) of a hospital setting
• Cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele patient population requiring continuous cardiac monitoring
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:00-06:30)

• Floating required between sister facilities within the state
• 13-week assignment length
• Provide bedside nursing care to cardiac telemetry and PCU patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response to dysrhythmias
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Must reside within or be willing to accept a 50-mile local radius, with local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff may return as a traveler after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
• RTO requests should be submitted upfront, as post-offer schedule changes may not be accommodated
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities, and refusal to float may impact assignment continuation
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position due to experience requirements
