American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ER Holding/Surge position in Massachusetts. Active MA RN license and at least 2 years of telemetry experience are required. BLS is mandatory; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities include caring for overflow patients in the ER Holding unit with 3×12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, and the ability to float to ED areas as needed. 13-week assignment with 36 hours/week and Epic charting are expected.

• Must pass a pass/fail medication exam and a pass/fail telemetry exam during orientation with only 1 attempt allowed for each.

• Uses Epic for charting.
• Must be able to work all 7 days.

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required and must be in hand
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
• Preferred experience in a Trauma Level I setting
• Skills required: cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, and medication administration including PCA
• Must pass a pass/fail medication exam and a pass/fail telemetry exam during orientation with only 1 attempt allowed for each

• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility allows 1 of the 3 major upcoming holidays as RTO
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with none allowed in the first week
• Study materials are provided during the compliance process and FDIs to help prepare for required exams
