American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an RN for a Cardiovascular/Pulmonary Telemetry unit in San Jose, CA. Requires active CA RN license and 2 years of telemetry experience, plus BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Telemetry and PCU or stroke experience preferred; Meditech EMR experience is a plus. The 13‑week assignment runs 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with rotating weekends, no on-call. Expect 4:1 telemetry and 3:1 PCU ratios, hospital setting, and travel housing allowance; travel nurses are outside a

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or ASHI.
• NIHSS certification required.
• 1.5–2 years telemetry experience required.
• 2 years of clinical experience in the placement area per facility guidelines.

Responsabilités

• Work on a 3rd floor Cardiovascular Pulmonary unit (3CV East/West) in a main hospital campus.
• Manage 80 total beds across east and west units with telemetry/PCU mix.
• Maintain patient ratios of 4:1 for telemetry and 3:1 for PCU.
• Day and night shifts with charge nurse, CNAs, and sitter support as needed.
• Utilize Alaris pumps, telemetry boxes, Hoyer lifts, wound vacs, PCA pumps, glucometers, and mobile lab equipment.
• Meditech EMR used on the unit.
• 13-week assignment with 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shifts.
• Rotating weekends; no on-call responsibilities.
• Floating to 3CVE/3CVW or medical-surgical units when needed.
• Care for patients post angiograms, open heart surgeries, strokes, PCIs, and post-op procedures.
• Manage dysphagia precautions, TR band maintenance, chest tubes, wound vacs, and rhythm interpretation.
• Ideal candidates are compassionate, adaptable, and thrive in fast-paced environments.
• Scrubs allowed in any color.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates.
• First-time travelers may be considered.

• 1.5-2 years of telemetry experience required
• 2 years of clinical experience in area of placement required per regional facility guidelines
• PCU, telemetry, or stroke experience preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Care for patients recovering from angiograms, open heart surgeries, strokes, PCIs, and various post‑op procedures
• Manage dysphagia swallow precautions, TR band maintenance, chest tubes, wound vacs, and rhythm interpretation
• Best suited for compassionate, adaptable candidates who thrive in a fast‑paced environment
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Must reside outside a 50‑mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• First‑time travelers may be considered
