Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Step Down RN with PCU experience and vent/trach skills for a night shift travel assignment at a short-term acute care teaching hospital in Missouri.

Requirements include MO RN license, BLS/ACLS, 1 year PCU, Relias EKG exam, and ventilator & trach care proficiency. You will work 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, 4x12s, with on-site housing allowance and per diems offered.

Qualifications

• Active MO or compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required.
• Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required.
• Experience with ventilator management, long-term vent weaning, pulmonary rehab, and trach care required.
• Experience with IV starts and telemetry required.

Responsibilities

• Step Down/PCU unit in a short-term acute care, teaching hospital setting.
• Patient ratios of 1:2-3 for all shifts.
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM).
• Option to sign for 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating within service line, including to Medical-Surgical units.
• No on-call requirements.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Vent management alongside respiratory therapy, trach management, and cardiac monitoring with emergency response.
• Manage cardiac drips (no titration) and heparin protocols.
• Navy scrubs required.
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position.
• No local candidates accepted.
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO during first week.
• Travelers may stay for an 18-month period, followed by a 3-month break in service.
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before traveling again.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Facial hair must allow respirator fit testing.
