Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown Care Unit position requiring ICU/Intermediate experience with trach and vent skills. The unit has 20 beds, a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, and uses EPIC EMR. Night shifts are 7pm–7am with every other weekend and holidays rotation. Travel RNs may float to ICU or other units based on care needs.

The role requires IL licensure, BLS, and ICU/stepdown expertise, with emphasis on trach/vent patient care and ventilator management.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• ACLS certification recommended.
• Minimum 1 year of ICU or Stepdown experience required.
• Trach and vent experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including drip titration and ventilator management.
• Collaborate with tele techs for strip interpretation and confirmation.
• Titrate drips and manage trach/vent patients on the Stepdown unit.
