Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Behavioral Health RN for a 12-week night shift assignment in Utah. Requires active RN license (UT or compact), BLS and CPI, and at least 2 years of RN experience. US SSN and DOB required; no gaps over 90 days in the past year.

Night shift 5:00 PM–5:00 AM; BHU with 14 beds, 1 charge nurse, 1 RN, and 2 techs per shift. Benefits include a generous housing allowance, travel and licensure reimbursements, day-one medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k), weekly payroll,

Qualifications

• Active RN license (UT or compact) required.
• Current BLS and CPI certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Trauma Informed Care experience preferred.
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration.
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) with 14 beds, staffed with 1 charge nurse, 1 RN, and 2 techs per shift.
• Patient ratio of 1:7 on BHU.
• Uses Welch Allyn vital signs machines, bladder scanner, and basic equipment such as thermometers and glucometers.
• EMR system is Meditech Magic.
• Night shift schedule from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
• Rotating weekends required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Floating to Alcohol and Chemical Treatment (ACT) unit may be required.
• Perform nursing assessments, glucose checks, medication administration, and lab monitoring.
• Navy scrub color required per facility dress code.
• Candidates with patience and kindness are a strong personality fit for this unit.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted.
