Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced RN for an inpatient psychiatric unit in Virginia. Requires VA or compact RN license, BLS, HWC, MANDT, and de-escalation training, with at least 2 years in Behavioral Health.

The role covers a 72-bed unit for children, adults, and geriatrics, with a 1:10 patient ratio and a night shift. Travel arrangements and housing are provided, plus several benefits and per diems.

Responsibilities

• Patient ratio of 1:10.
• Night shift from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.
• Every other weekend or as-needed weekend coverage.
• Float across all three units (child, adult, geriatric).
• Uses vitals machine, EKG, bladder scanner, metal detector, and AED equipment; Cerner EHR.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Psychiatric inpatient unit position requiring a VA or compact RN license and specialized de-escalation certifications.

Requirements

• Active RN license valid in VA (Standard or Compact)
• BLS certification required
• HWC certification required
• MANDT certification required
• TOVA-certified de-escalation/physical hold training required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous Psychiatric/Behavioral Health experience required
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel rate

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Behavioral Health unit with 72 beds serving child, adult, and geriatric populations
• Patient ratio of 1:10
• Night shift from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend or as-needed weekend coverage
• Float requirement across all three units (child, adult, geriatric)
• Uses vitals machine, EKG, bladder scanner, metal detector, and AED equipment
• Cerner EHR used
• No on-call requirements
• Provide nursing care to patients with diagnoses including MDD, Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis, Schizophrenia, and Anxiety
• Team-oriented, flexible, patient-centered approach valued
• Scrub color is navy
• Hoodies, excessive or long jewelry, and lanyards are not permitted
• Orientation held biweekly on Mondays
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
