The ideal candidate holds an active Maine or compact RN license, has 3+ years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in mental health, and possesses BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Maine or compact)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI
• Associate's degree required
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
• At least 1 year of previous mental health nursing experience required
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Strong team player with ability to manage stress and make decisions under pressure

Responsibilities

• Work in the Crisis Psychiatric Unit of a behavioral healthcare facility
• Patient population includes ages 5 and up with psychiatric illnesses such as major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, and psychotic disorders
• Some patients may also require medical care or detoxification services
• Night shift schedule from 7p-7a
• Flexibility required to provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Serve as an essential member of the patient care team providing direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process
• Develop and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care
• Evaluate patient outcomes and identify available resources for patients
• Previous employees of this facility will not be accepted
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
