American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Behavioral Health RN for a night shift on a geropsych unit in Dubuque, IA. Requires 24 months of psych/behavioral health experience and charge nurse responsibilities, with Epic EMR usage.

Night shifts are 3x12 hours (36 hrs/week) with weekend rotation and potential on-call; travel assignment with no local candidates within 90 miles.

Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required.
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required.
• Minimum 24 months of current psych/behavioral health experience required.
• Experience with geriatric psychiatric patient population required.
• Charge nurse experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• De-escalation certification preferred, can be obtained during onboarding.
• Valid driver's license required for consideration.
• Supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference from within the past 24 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Behavioral health/geropsych unit with 9 beds.
• Patient ratios up to 1:9, all geriatric psych/behavioral health patients.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hrs/week, no 48-hour weeks.
• Weekend rotation required every 3rd weekend including holiday rotation.
• On-call required possibly once per pay period as needed.
• Charge nurse responsibilities required.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Grey scrub color required.
• Provide direct nursing care to geriatric psychiatric and behavioral health patients.
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.
• First-time travelers accepted with required 24 months of psych/behavioral health experience.
• Not open to local candidates within 90 miles of the facility.
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from working travel assignments at other UPH markets within 12 months of separation.
