American Traveler is seeking a Behavioral Health RN for a night shift Psychiatric position in Illinois. The role requires CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills certification, active IL RN license, and BLS.

A BSN is preferred and at least two years of nursing experience is expected. The incumbent will care for adult and geriatric psychiatric patients, work 1830-0700 with every other weekend, and participate in group therapies while coordinating care with the health care

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills (APS) certification required.
• BSN preferred or equivalent years of experience.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Care for adult and geriatric psychiatric patients 18+ in Behavioral Health Services.
• 13-week contract and night shift 1830-0700 with every other weekend.
• Holiday coverage required and uses Meditech EMR.
• Coordinate nursing care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Direct and oversee other care personnel; administer meds per policy.
• Monitor patient safety, manage risk and maintain a safe environment.
• Participate in group therapies and multidisciplinary treatment planning.
• Collaborate with physicians and health care team; participate in orientation and meetings.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred or equivalent years of experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Ability to stand 4-6 hours and lift up to 25 lbs when assisting clients

Responsibilities

• Behavioral Health Services unit caring for adult and geriatric psychiatric clients 18 years and older
• 13-week contract
• Night shift 1830-0700, including every other weekend
• Holiday coverage required
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Manages and coordinates nursing care activities for clients during hospitalization including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Directs and oversees other personnel involved in client care
• Prepares, administers, and records medications per policy
• Monitors clients and documents according to risk precaution level
• Maintains a safe environment, monitoring for harmful contraband
• Conducts group therapies and participates in multidisciplinary treatment planning
• Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team
• Participates in orientation, in-service training, and departmental meetings
