Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Behavioral Health role in Oklahoma. The ideal candidate holds an active OK or compact RN license, with 2+ years of Adult Behavioral Health nursing experience, and current BLS/NIHSS certifications.

The position features 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM), every-other-weekend work, and no on-call requirements. Benefits include housing allowance, travel and licensure reimbursements, and first-day insurance options.

Qualifications

• Handle with Care Certification preferred.
• DHS fingerprinting required as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Work in the SW Adult Psych unit of a hospital setting.
• Adult behavioral health patient population.
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Required to work every other weekend.
• No on-call requirements.
• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatment planning, medication administration, and therapeutic communication.
• Deliver crisis intervention and monitor patient well-being.
• Educate patients and families on treatment and recovery.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
• Candidates within 50 miles of the facility will be considered for placement at a reduced travel rate.
• Former direct employees of the facility are not eligible to return through an agency until 6 months after their direct employment ends.
• No more than 5 days of requested time off during the assignment.
