Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a PICU RN for a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center in Texas. Requires TX or compact RN license and 1+ year PICU experience with Epic charting.

Night shift 7:00 PM–7:00 AM with 1:2 ratios, self-scheduling, and weekend variability. First-time travelers welcome; generous housing allowance, travel reimbursements, and benefits provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Pediatric ICU unit within a Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• 1:2 patient ratios
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Self-scheduling with 3 shifts per week, consecutive or split
• Variable weekend requirement
• Float to Pediatric Med/Surg and NICU units
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in PICU
• May float to sister facilities within the state as needed
• Navy scrubs for RNs
• Free parking on site
• Must commit to 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests submitted upfront during application
• First-time travelers welcome
• Providence employees must wait 3 months before returning as traveler
• Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a PICU RN for a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 1 year of PICU experience.

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required: respiratory suctioning (ETT, NT), care of ventilated patients, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line/implanted line care, continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, hydrocephalus/VP shunt management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE
• Preferred skills: intubation assist/management, chest tube management, PICC line management, EVD care, ICP monitoring, hemodynamic monitoring, post cardiac surgery care, telemetry monitoring
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable setting
