Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric ICU RN for a night-shift travel assignment in Indiana. Candidates must hold an active IN or Compact RN license and have at least 18 months PICU experience.

The role requires BLS/PALS certification, an ACEN/CCNE-accredited nursing degree, and two supervisor references. Responsibilities include care of critically ill children in the PICU and occasional floating to affiliated hospitals.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Night shift schedule: 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM.
• Holiday coverage required: 2 out of 3 major holidays.
• Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals for travelers.
• Cerner charting system experience required.

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring an IN or compact RN license and 18 months of PICU experience.

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand

• Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation


• 2 supervisor references required


• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, central line/implanted line care, and PICC line management


• Experience with care of ventilated patients and respiratory management


• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias


• Knowledge of infection control/PPE and isolation precautions


• Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations and medication/emergency medication administration

Responsibilities

• PICU setting within a children's hospital


• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)


• Holiday coverage required (must work 2 out of 3 major holidays)


• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals for all travelers


• Cerner charting system required


• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU


• First-time travelers are welcome to apply


• Local candidates are not accepted for this position


• Any prior perm or PRN employee of the health system must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler


• RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
