Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric ICU RN for a rotating shift assignment in Maryland. Requires MD or compact RN licensure and PICU experience, with 2+ years in PICU and at least one prior travel assignment.

The role involves caring for critically ill pediatric patients in a Level 1 Burn/Trauma Center with cardiac ICU capabilities, and offers travel reimbursements and housing support.

Qualifications

• Active MD or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years' current experience in Pediatric ICU required.
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required.
• Critical Care Certification, trauma course completion, and EPIC experience preferred.
• Comparable facility size experience required (500+ bed facility experience for this assignment).

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) at a Level 1 Designated Burn, Trauma, and Eye Center.
• Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit treating patients from newborn to 21 years old.
• Cares for patients with respiratory failure, metabolic disorders, seizure disorders, multiorgan failure, shock, toxic ingestions, ECMO, and ventricular assist devices.
• Supports surgical patients including general, cardiac, thoracic, transplant, orthopedic, and neurologic procedures.
• Manages continuous infusions and intermittent medications including narcotics, vasopressors, diuretics, PN/IL, IVP, PCAs, PO, and GT/JT.
• Patient to nurse ratio of 2:1 or 1:1.
• Rotating 7A/7P shift schedule.
• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in a high-acuity cardiac and general ICU setting.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate.
