Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a PICU RN for a night shift travel assignment in Texas, requiring BLS, PALS, and at least 1 year of PICU experience. You will work in a hospital PICU, with 14-22 beds and varied cases, using Meditech EMR.

The shift runs 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM for a 13-week assignment, with no on-call and weekend requirements every four weeks. Candidates must hold an active Texas RN license or compact license, current BLS and PALS, and be willing to reside outside a 50-mile radius.

Qualifications

Active TX or compact RN license required.
Current BLS and PALS certifications required.
ACLS certification preferred.
Minimum 1 year of recent PICU experience required.
US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration.
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a hospital setting.
Unit has 14-22 beds with staffing dependent on acuity and census.
Cares for pediatric patients requiring procedures such as cleft palate repair, appendectomy, chest tube management, and lumbar punctures.
Manages seizure care and noninvasive cardiology cases.
Unit also supports neuro, ortho, general surgery, and thoracic cases including thoracotomy/thoracoscopy and pectus bar implants.
No neurosurgery, stroke, or foreign body airway removal cases handled on this unit.
Uses Meditech EMR
Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
13-week assignment length
Requires working 4 weekend days every 4 weeks
No on-call requirements
May float to NICU Level 1 or 2 units only
Deliver pediatric critical care within a supportive, collaborative team environment where staff assist one another
Scrub color/attire is royal blue
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates will not be considered
First-time travelers may be considered for this role
