Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced PACU RN with Pre-Op, PACU, and Phase II care experience for a block schedule assignment at a Level II Trauma Center in Spokane, WA.

Candidates must hold WA or compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, with minimum 1 year of PACU experience and Phase I/II care. Epic charting is required, plus skills in cardiac monitoring, arterial lines, and IV therapy. Block shifts, floats within the state, and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of recent PACU experience
• Experience in Pre-Op, PACU, and Phase II care with IV skills
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, arterial lines, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, and blood products
• Experience with central line care, IV vasopressors, narcotics/opi oid analgesics, and reversal agents
• Experience caring for anesthesia types including conscious sedation, general, MAC, nerve blocks, and spinal
• Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment/management, PCA pump, and RASS
• 2 supervisory references (1 year within last 3 years)

Responsibilities

• Work in the PACU unit of a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift (4x10 hours, 7:00-17:00) or Night shift (4x10 hours, 21:00-7:00) available
• Block schedule required
• Floating between units and sister facilities within the state
• No weekend requirement
• No on-call requirement
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide perianesthesia nursing care across Phase I and Phase II PACU settings
• Care for surgical patients across bariatrics, ENT, general, GYN, neuro, ophthalmology, ortho, vascular
• Teaching hospital environment
• Must commit to 3 of 5 major holidays
• Submit all RTO and scheduling requests upfront
• Candidates must live within 50-mile radius
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after 3-month wait and outside 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers welcome
• Scrub color for RNs can be any color

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Required experience in Pre-Op, PACU, and Phase II care with IV skills
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition/management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Experience with central line care, IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
• Experience caring for patients receiving various types of anesthesia including conscious sedation, general, local, MAC, nerve blocks, and spinal
• Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment/management, PCA pump management, and RASS
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside the 50-mile radius
