Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced PACU RN for a Level III Trauma Center in Texas with pediatric recovery requirements. Active TX or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS/PALS are a must.

Minimum 2 years PACU and pediatric PACU experience are required, with strong consideration for critical care background. The role involves day shifts (5x8), 1:2 patient ratio, and call duties. Travelers welcome, with coverage in Pre-Op and various surgical recoveries; housing and licensure

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years PACU experience preferred (excluding cardiac).
• Pediatric PACU experience required.
• Critical care experience strongly preferred.
• Level II trauma center experience preferred.
• Cerner charting experience preferred.
• First-time travelers with strong experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Phase I and Pediatric PACU of a Level III Trauma Center.
• Patient ratio of 1:2.
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday (5x8 hours, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM).
• Call required.
• Assist with coverage in Pre-Op.
• Recover patients from ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental, GYN, and ENT surgeries (adults and pediatrics).
• Monitor patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines.
• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care for a wide range of surgical cases including ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental, GYN, and ENT procedures.
• Manage patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines.
• RTO must be submitted in advance and some holiday coverage is expected.
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted.
• Facility conducts an onsite drug screen including marijuana testing upon arrival.
