American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for PACU/Prep-Recovery with Phase I/II recovery background and Epic charting proficiency. The role demands a valid Oregon RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS within 6 months, plus 5+ years of nursing experience including prep recovery.

The position offers day shifts (3x12s or 4x9s), 36 hours weekly, with no nights, calls, or holidays. Travel through West Valley Hospital network may be required.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU/Prep-Recovery position requiring prior Phase I/II recovery experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered RN license in the State of Oregon
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• ACLScertification required
• PALS certification required within 6 months of hire
• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including 2 years of Prep Recovery - Phase II experience
• Minimum of 1 year acute PACU experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, airway assessment, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Experience with cardiovascular, vascular, and plastics surgery patient care preferred
• Experience caring for patients undergoing a variety of surgical specialties, including ortho, neuro, GI, GU, GYN, and bariatric procedures preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in the PACU/Prep-Recovery (Phase I recovery) unit of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule with start times between 0800-1000, scheduled as 3x12s or 4x9s depending on staffing needs
• 36 hours per week
• No night shift, call, or holiday requirements
• May be required to float within the facility or to nearby affiliated facilities, with priority given to West Valley Hospital
• Provide safe, quality nursing care across the surgical services continuum, including Pre-Surgical Screening, Prep/Recovery, Operating Room, Endoscopy, and PACU
• Responsibilities include pre/post-operative assessments, patient education, medication administration, and discharge instructions
• Perform pain assessment and management, including PCA pump management
• Monitor for dysrhythmias and manage cardiac telemetry
• Support patients recovering from a wide range of anesthesia types including general, spinal, and MAC
• Former Salem Health employees must wait six months from their termination date before being eligible for travel assignments
• Block scheduling is not accommodated
• RTO requests must be finalized prior to consideration for the position
