Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU/Recovery Room travel position in Nevada. Active NV RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 13-week travel experience are required. Expect 4x10-hour shifts in a Level II trauma center with rotating days and two weeknights plus one weekend day.

You will work with adolescents to older adults, may float to other units, and chart in Epic. Travel housing allowance and licensure reimbursement are provided.

Qualifications

• Active NV RN license required before start.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years Recovery Room experience.
• Travel nursing experience required, including at least one 13-week assignment in the past year.
• CMP bloodwork required prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Recovery Room/PACU department of a Level II Trauma Center.
• Serves adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families.
• 4x10's schedule with varied shifts and rotating days of the week (Mon-Fri).
• Call requirements include 2 weeknights shifts and 1 weekend day.
• May float to other units based on organizational needs and competency level.
• Uses Epic for charting.
• Provide individualized nursing care throughout the entire episode of patient care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate care with other professionals and involve family or significant others in assessment and care planning as appropriate.
• Work in an extremely busy, fast-paced environment serving a 500-mile radius with Stroke accreditation and 800 inpatient beds.
• May be required to work major holidays, including coverage for a minimum of 2 major holidays.
• May be required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period.
• Facility reserves the right to cancel shifts (full or partial) for low census with 48 hours notice per 13-week contract.
• No blocked scheduling allowed; all assignments are for 13 weeks.
• Requested RTO must be submitted with initial application and will not be added to the end of the contract.
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted.
• A 13-week break is required between assignments for returning travelers.
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position.
