Job summary

American Traveler seeks a PACU RN for a teaching hospital in Minnesota. Requires 1–2 years PACU experience, active or pending MN RN license, and Epic charting proficiency. Travel nursing experience is required, with strong skills in airway management and post-op care.

Responsibilities include 4x12-hour shifts, 1:1 patient ratios, and cross-site coverage between PACU and Day Surgery Center. Eligible candidates reside outside a 100-mile radius and have supervisor references.

Qualifications

• Active or pending MN RN license accepted.
• 1–2 years PACU experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Epic (Excellian) charting experience required.
• Skilled in airway assessment, ventilated patient care and end-tidal CO2 monitoring.
• Experience with cardiovascular patient care including cardiac arrest response and post cath lab procedures.
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including central line and PICC line care.
• Pre/post-operative patient care and discharge instructions.
• At least one supervisor reference required.

Responsibilities

• Work across two hospital locations: main PACU/Pre-Op/Phase 2 and Day Surgery Center.
• 4x12-hour day shifts with starts at 0530, 0800, 0930, or 1100.
• 1:1 patient ratios; weekend shifts as needed.
• No on-call requirements; floating between sites and potentially affiliate hospital.
• Care for surgical patients across cardiac, ortho, neuro, GI, GYN, urology and vascular.
• Support anesthesia types including general, spinal, MAC and nerve blocks.
• Teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation and 317 beds.
• Scrubs provided; pre-start modules required before start.
• Must reside at least 100 miles away; RTO limited; first-time travelers welcome.

• 1-2 years of PACU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic (Excellian) charting experience required
• Skilled in airway assessment, ventilated patient care, and end-tidal CO2 monitoring
• Experience with cardiovascular patient care including cardiac arrest response and post cath lab procedures
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including central line and PICC line care
• Pre/post-operative patient care skills including discharge instructions and medication reconciliation
• At least one supervisor reference required

Responsibilities

• Work across two locations within the same hospital system: the main hospital PACU/Pre-Op/Phase 2 unit and the Day Surgery Center
• 4x12-hour day shifts with start times of 0530, 0800, 0930, or 1100
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Weekend shifts as needed per unit requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required between the main hospital and Day Surgery Center, and potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby
• Care for surgical patients across a wide range of specialties including cardiac, ortho, neuro, GI, GYN, urology, and vascular
• Support patients undergoing various anesthesia types including general, spinal, MAC, and nerve blocks
• Teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation and 317 staffed beds
• Scrubs provided by the unit
• Pre-start modules required for completion prior to start
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible, with no local candidates accepted
• Returning staff must have a break of at least 3 months since their last shift as a perm employee
• RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
